Orbital provides a wide range of opportunities to help employees build their skills and develop their careers in alignment with each employee's job responsibilities and career goals. These include lunchtime seminars, formal classroom training, online learning, special assignments, mentoring and/or coaching, on-the-job training, and participation on special task forces. Orbital's Tuition Reimbursement Program encourages continuing education. Management Development Program
Orbital offers formal management development training in our Chandler, AZ, Dulles, VA and Greenbelt, MD locations. Employees in management positions and lead roles can participate in this program. The courses offered in this program have been specifically designed to reflect the Orbital work environment and incorporate management principles that have been embraced by the Executive Management Team at Orbital.

Technical Training
Periodically, technical programs are offered to employees either on-site and/or online. These can include college-level degree programs, certificate programs, and courses covering specific topics. For example, the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. is teaching a graduate level Systems Engineering Certificate Program on-site at our Dulles location. A similar offering is an on-line Master of Systems Engineering program taught by the Arizona State University Fulton School of Engineering.

The Orbital Academy
The Orbital Academy offers employees a unique opportunity to build their technical skills in areas relevant to our operations such as Astrodynamics, Space Radiation, Finance and Structural Analysis. Using a combination of lecture and hands-on work as the format, these courses are conducted at our Dulles campus by highly motivated subject matter experts. Each 2-hour class runs approximately 6-8 weeks in duration.

Orbital Lunchtime Lecture Series
The primary objective of the lunchtime lecture series is to facilitate information/knowledge exchange between Orbital employees. These "Brown Bag" sessions are delivered by Orbital employee subject matter experts and are open to all interested Orbital employees. Subject matter can vary from technical engineering topics to other non-engineering matters. Some of the topics that have been presented include Shock and Vibration in Launch Vehicles, Orbital Mechanics and Dynamics, and Business Fundamentals for Engineers, just to name a few.

Tuition Reimbursement
We recognize that our ability to remain one of the world’s most innovative space systems companies is accomplished through employing individuals who never stop improving their minds and themselves. Our Tuition Reimbursement benefit is one way in which we can assist employees in their goal to enhance their career growth and realize their full potential.

Through this benefit, Orbital will reimburse tuition and other related expenses for employees enrolled in pre-approved, job-related courses at accredited colleges, universities or trade schools up to $7,500 per year. Employees are also eligible to receive an additional cash award upon attaining a work-related degree (Bachelor's, Master's or PhD).
