Intelsat 11

Intelsat 11

Intelsat 11 is one of ten Orbital STAR GEO communications satellites ordered by Intelsat. Intelsat 11 carries two communications payloads: a C-band payload to serve the continental United States (CONUS), Mexico and South America; and a Ku-band payload to serve DirecTV’s Latin America downlink coverage in Brazil, with spot coverage over portions of Mexico, Venezuela and Florida.

Repeater: 16-for-12 redundant transponders with linearized traveling wave tube assemblies
Antenna: 2.3m dual gridded deployable reflector with corrugated feed horn assembly

Ku-band
Repeater: Two groups of 12-for-9 transponders with linearized traveling wave tube assemblies
Antennas: 2.3m dual gridded deployable transmit antenna; 0.9m dual gridded deck mounted receive antenna

Stabilization: 3-axis stabilized; zero momentum system
Launch Mass: 2,491 kg (5,492 lbs)
Mission Life: 15-years (fueled for 16 years)
