Measat-3a

MEASAT-3a

The MEASAT-3a satellite was developed and built for MEASAT Satellite Systems of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The satellite carries 12 Ku-band and 12 C-band transponders and features three antennas. MEASAT-3a provides C-band communications services throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and Ku-band direct-to-home television broadcasting to Malaysia and Indonesia. The satellite is located at an orbital slot of 91.5 degrees East longitude over Southeast Asia and generates approximately 3.5 kilowatts of payload power.

Antennas: one 1.2 m deck-mounted antenna plus one 2.3m dual gridded shaped deployable reflector

Transponder power: 120 watts RF LCTWA's
Antennas: one 2.3m dual gridded shaped deployable reflector

Stabilization: 3-axis stabilized; mono propellant on orbit
Launch Mass: 2,417.4 kg (4,447.6 lbs.)
