Mission Control Complex

Orbital’s a state-of-the-art Mission Control Complex (MCC) is located at the company’s headquarters campus in Dulles, Virginia. The $3.3 million MCC consists of:

• Three Mission Operations Centers
• Dynamic Spacecraft Simulator (DSS) Facility
• Science Operations Center
• Communications Room
• Mission Viewing Room

Together with the company’s Satellite Manufacturing Facility (SMF), which accommodates development, production and testing of multiple satellites, the new MCC offers spacecraft operators a “one-stop shop” for the manufacture, launch, deployment and mission operations of new satellites.

The MCC is used to train client operations personnel, to conduct dress rehearsals of missions, to operate and test spacecraft, and to support Orbital space systems over the entire life of their mission.
